Bohdan Zadura awarded the Drahomán Translation Prize
The Ukrainian Institute, the Ukrainian Pen Club, and the Ukrainian Book Institute have awarded Polish translator Bohdan Zadura the Drahomán Translation Prize for the best translation of works of Ukrainian literature into foreign languages.

A plaque in memory of Józef Mackiewicz unveiled in Munich
A plaque commemorating Józef Mackiewicz was unveiled by the Consulate General in Munich on Sunday 16 October 2022, the Institute of National Remembrance reported. It was in this city that the author of Lewa wolna (“Clear on the Left”), lived from 1955 to 1985.

Beginning of Frankfurter Buchmesse 2022
Today marks the beginning of the Frankfurt International Book Fair, the most important event of its kind in the world. As usual, the Book Institute invites you to visit the Polish stand. After a two-year hiatus following a pandemic break in 2020 and last year's hybrid format, the Frankfurt Fair is returning completely to a live edition. Although the organisers appeal for caution and prudence, this year's event is taking place without major sanitary restrictions.
