Beginning of Frankfurter Buchmesse 2022

Today marks the beginning of the Frankfurt International Book Fair, the most important event of its kind in the world. As usual, the Book Institute invites you to visit the Polish stand. After a two-year hiatus following a pandemic break in 2020 and last year's hybrid format, the Frankfurt Fair is returning completely to a live edition. Although the organisers appeal for caution and prudence, this year's event is taking place without major sanitary restrictions.

The organisers of the Franfurter Buchmesse have prepared an interesting and extensive programme for industry insiders, publishers, translators, and readers alike. A new addition to this year's event is the TikTok Stage. It is intended to be a space for so-called booktokers, who will be able to record reports, reviews, and meetings and post them on their profiles.

As it did last year, the Book Institute has organised a 200m2 stand located in Hall 4.0. The international audience will be introduced to books from the "New Books from Poland 2022" catalogue and a selection of the best Polish children's books from the “Polish Books for Children & Young Adults 2022” catalogue. We will also mention the impressive achievements of the Copyright Poland Translation Programme, thanks to which around 3,000 books by Polish authors have been published worldwide. Among the presented titles, a special place will be given to books by Polish authors translated into Ukrainian.

As in previous years, Frankfurt will also see the premiere of the trade brochure "Polish Book Market", providing trade audiences with knowledge about our country's book market.

As many as 38 exhibitors from the publishing industry will also be presenting their offerings at the Polish collective stand: Wydawnictwo Literackie, Grupa Wydawnicza Foksal, Dwie Siostry, Zielona Sowa, Nasza Księgarnia, Adamada, Druganoga, The University of Warsaw Press, the AMU Publishing House (Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM), Jagiellonian University Press, Bzgraf, Ozgraf, Opolgraf, Opolgraf, National Centre for Culture Poland, Mamy dla Mamy, Bosz, Media Rodzina, Marpress, Muchomor, Agora, InkBook, Publicat, Druga Strona Poznania, Bernardinum, DT Agency, Makami –Marek Kamiński Institute, Fundacja Historia i Kultura, Poradnia K, Mamania, Wydawnictwo Kobiece, Rosikon Press, Pozkal, Wydawnictwo Olesiejuk, Tatarak, Rebis, and Wydawnictwo Poznańskie.

Spain will be the guest of honour at this year's edition.
