The graphic novel about Jan Karski will be published with the daily newspaper “La Repubblica”

The Italian graphic novel about the emissary of the Polish Underground State, Jan Karski, will be a supplement to the issue of the daily ‘La Repubblica’ from Friday 24 January. This is a publishing initiative in connection with the International Holocaust Remembrance Day.

The Book Institute supported the Bulgarian edition of “Dom wybranych” by Bronisław Wildstein

In Bulgaria, a translation of the book Dom wybranych (“The House of the Chosen”) has recently been published. The book was translated by Magdalina Mitreva. The publication of Bronisław Wildstein’s work has been supported by the Book Institute as part of the ©POLAND Translation Programme.

Excerpt of Witold Pilecki’s biography in "The Times"

The British daily newspaper "The Times" published in Monday's edition excerpts from the biography of cavalry captain Witold Pilecki entitled "The Volunteer" by the British writer Jack Fairweather. A week ago, the book received the Costa Book Award for 2019 in the biography category.

A mural dedicated to Janusz Korczak to be installed in Florence

A mural dedicated to Janusz Korczak will be installed in Florence - it was announced on Tuesday. The work of Romanian artist Ache 77 will be unveiled on the wall of a primary school and will be ready for Holocaust Remembrance Day on 27 January.

Small Book – Great Man

The social campaign "Small Book – Great Man" reminds us of the benefits of reading together in a family from the first months of a child's life. It was devised in connection with a nationwide campaign, as part of which young parents will receive unique Reading Layettes in maternity wards.

The largest readership promotion campaign in Poland, and probably in the world. In this year's edition, in 500 cities and towns, there could be found free e-book rentals, available for everyone. They were available at bus stops, libraries, and cultural institutions. The Book Institute is a strategic partner of the campaign.
