We promote Polish literature across the world. In recent years, almost 1,800 translations of Polish books have been published as part of the ©Poland Translation Program!



The Book Institute supported the Arabic translation of Witold Gombrowicz's “Dziennik”

The translation of the second volume of Witold Gombrowicz's Dziennik (“Diaries”) into Arabic has recently been published. The translation was supported by the Book Institute as part of the ©POLAND Translation Programme.

Writer Wojciech Zembaty, author of the series Głodne słońce („The Hungry Sun”), talks about his admiration for Reymont's Chłopi (“The Peasants”), books that made him downbeat, reading westerns for pleasure and fantasy books "professionally", aversion to pure science fiction, the topicality of Frank Herbert, and the pleasure of discovering authors that no one has read, as well as about the writer who made him become a fantasy writer.


The graphic novel about Jan Karski will be published with the daily newspaper “La Repubblica”

The Italian graphic novel about the emissary of the Polish Underground State, Jan Karski, will be a supplement to the issue of the daily ‘La Repubblica’ from Friday 24 January. This is a publishing initiative in connection with the International Holocaust Remembrance Day.


The Book Institute supported the Bulgarian edition of “Dom wybranych” by Bronisław Wildstein

In Bulgaria, a translation of the book Dom wybranych (“The House of the Chosen”) has recently been published. The book was translated by Magdalina Mitreva. The publication of Bronisław Wildstein’s work has been supported by the Book Institute as part of the ©POLAND Translation Programme.

Small Book – Great Man

The social campaign "Small Book – Great Man" reminds us of the benefits of reading together in a family from the first months of a child's life. It was devised in connection with a nationwide campaign, as part of which young parents will receive unique Reading Layettes in maternity wards.

The largest readership promotion campaign in Poland, and probably in the world. In this year's edition, in 500 cities and towns, there could be found free e-book rentals, available for everyone. They were available at bus stops, libraries, and cultural institutions. The Book Institute is a strategic partner of the campaign.
