“To, co najważniejsze” by Józef Tischner in Hungarian with the support of the Book Institute

A translation of a collection of Józef Tischner's most important texts entitled To, co najważniejsze (“What's Most Important”) has been published in Hungary. The publication of the book was supported by the Book Institute as part of the ©POLAND Translation Programme.

National Reading of "On the Niemen" by Eliza Orzeszkowa in Vilnius

A National Reading Day was held on Thursday at the 'Sakwa' café in Vilnius, which is run by the local Polish community. Around 60 people took part in the reading of Eliza Orzeszkowa's novel Nad Niemnem (“On the Niemen”), organised by the Polish Institute and the Polish Embassy in Vilnius.

The second day of the Mobile Library Congress in Cuxhaven was not only about lectures and speeches, but above all about the opportunity to see the more than 20 bookmobiles that arrived at the event from different parts of Europe.

Mobile Library Congress in Cuxhaven

An international congress on mobile libraries was held in the German city of Cuxhaven on 8-9 September. The Book Institute organised and co-financed a trip to the event, which was attended by representatives of Polish cultural institutions and other organisations that operate mobile libraries or plan to launch them.

Small Book – Great Man

The social campaign "Small Book – Great Man" reminds us of the benefits of reading together in a family from the first months of a child's life. It was devised in connection with a nationwide campaign, as part of which young parents will receive unique Reading Layettes in maternity wards.

CZYTAJ PL

The largest readership promotion campaign in Poland, and probably in the world. In this year's edition, in 500 cities and towns, there could be found free e-book rentals, available for everyone. They were available at bus stops, libraries, and cultural institutions. The Book Institute is a strategic partner of the campaign.
