We promote Polish literature across the world. In recent years, almost 1,800 translations of Polish books have been published as part of the ©Poland Translation Program!

The translation of Olga Tokarczuk's Prowadź swój pług przez kości umarłych (“Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead”) by Antonia Lloyd-Jones made it to the longlist of books nominated for the 13th edition of an American translation award called the Best Translated Book Award.


Małgorzata Rejmer’s ”Błoto słodsze niż miód” in Spanish with the support of the Book Institute

A translation of Małgorzata Rejmer's reportage Błoto słodsze niż miód. Głosy komunistycznej Albanii (“Mud Sweeter than Honey. Voices from Communist Albania”) has recently been published in Spain. The authors of the translation are Agata Orzeszek and Ernesto Rubio. The publication was supported by the Book Institute as part of the ©POLAND Translation Programme.


”Przedpiekle sławy. Rzecz o Chopinie” in French with the support of the Book Institute

In December 2019, a translation of Piotr Witt's book Przedpiekle sławy. Rzecz o Chopinie (”On the Threshold of Fame: Chopin’s First Steps in Paris”) was published in France. The book was translated by Eric Veaux. The publication was supported by the Book Institute as part of the ©POLAND Translation Programme.

Small Book – Great Man

The social campaign "Small Book – Great Man" reminds us of the benefits of reading together in a family from the first months of a child's life. It was devised in connection with a nationwide campaign, as part of which young parents will receive unique Reading Layettes in maternity wards.

The largest readership promotion campaign in Poland, and probably in the world. In this year's edition, in 500 cities and towns, there could be found free e-book rentals, available for everyone. They were available at bus stops, libraries, and cultural institutions. The Book Institute is a strategic partner of the campaign.
