“Daj gryza” in Portuguese with the support of the Book Institute

Aleksandra Mizielińska, Daniel Mizieliński, and Natalia Baranowska's book Daj gryza. Smakowite historie o jedzeniu (”Take a Bite: Eat Your Way Around the World”) has been published in Brazil. The publication of the translation by Eneida Favre was supported by the Book Institute as part of the ©Poland Translation Programme.

Residencies for literary translators and writers in Croatia

The Croatian Literary Translators Association organises residency stays in Zagreb for literary translators and writers. Foreign literary translators who translate Croatian literature and foreign writers can apply for the residency.

“Baśń o wężowym sercu” by Radek Rak in Czech with support from the Book Institute

A translation of Radek Rak's novel Baśń o wężowym sercu albo wtóre słowo o Jakóbie Szeli (”The Tale of the Serpent's Heart or the Second Word about Jakób Szela”) has been published in the Czech Republic. The translation by Michala Benešová was supported by the Book Institute as part of the ©POLAND Translation Programme.

The 75th International Frankfurt Book Fair

The 75th anniversary edition of the International Book Fair in Frankfurt am Main took place from 18-22 October. It is the most important event of the book industry in the world. This year, Poland showcased in Frankfurt for the 25th time, and the Polish stand was traditionally prepared by the Book Institute.

Small Book – Great Man

The social campaign "Small Book – Great Man" reminds us of the benefits of reading together in a family from the first months of a child's life. It was devised in connection with a nationwide campaign, as part of which young parents will receive unique Reading Layettes in maternity wards.

CZYTAJ PL

The largest readership promotion campaign in Poland, and probably in the world. In this year's edition, in 500 cities and towns, there could be found free e-book rentals, available for everyone. They were available at bus stops, libraries, and cultural institutions. The Book Institute is a strategic partner of the campaign.
