Ryszard Krynicki’s “Kamień, szron” in French
A translation of Ryszard Krynicki's poetry collection Kamień, szron (“Stone, Hoar Frost”) will be published in France in May. The author of both the translation and the introduction is Isabelle Macor. The edition will be published with the support of the ©Poland Translation Programme.
Award for Alissa Valles, the translator of Ryszard Krynicki
During the annual convention of The Modern Language Association (MLA), held from January 3rd-6th in Chicago, it was announced that the American poet Alissa Valles received the Aldo and Jeanne Scaglioni Prize for translating the volume Nasze życie rośnie ("Our Life Grows") by Ryszard Krynicki, published by New York Review Books with the support of the Polish Book Institute as part of the ©POLAND Translation Programme.
Translations of Fiedorczuk, Grzegorzewska, and Krynicki nominated in the United States!
Three translations of Polish books have been nominated for the prestigious National Translation Awards (NTA) administered by the American Literary Translators Association (ALTA). Among the nominees, there are Clare Cavanagh for the translation of Ryszard Krynicki, Bill Johnston, the winner of the Transatlantic Award, for the translation of Julia Fiedorczuk, as well as Eliza Marciniak for the translation of Wioletta Grzegorzewska.
