Rafał Witek's “Klub latających ciotek” in Serbian with the support of the Book Institute

In Serbia, the translation of Rafał Witek's Klub latających ciotek (“The Flying Aunts’ Club”) has been published. The translation by Andelija Jočić was supported by the Book Institute as part of the ©POLAND Translation Programme.

Kлуб летећих тетака, as reads the Serbian title of the book, was published by the publishing house Kreativni centar in Belgrade.

“A summer trip to the countryside to the ageing aunts," wrote Prof. Grzegorz Leszczyński about the Club, "turns out to be the beginning of a fascinating adventure in which contemporary emotions are accompanied by events hidden behind a veil of years. The young heroes have to solve a mystery, in which they are inadvertently helped by robust, energetic old ladies. Dialogues sparkling with humour, comedy of the characters intensified by amusing situations, a fast narrative, a large dose of sensation, a surprising finale - an excellent family reading, an opportunity to laugh together and experience common reading experiences.”

With the support of the ©POLAND Translation Programme, the translator of the book, Andelija Jočić, has also translated in recent years such books as Marcin Buczkowski's Bezsenność w Tokio  (“Sleepless in Tokyo”, Belgrade 2015), Dorota Terakowska's Lustro pana Grymsa  (“The Mirror of Mr Gryms”, Belgrade 2017) and Marcin Szczygielski's Czarownica piętro niżej (“The Witch One Floor Down”, Belgrade 2017).
