Polish literature

Marek Stokowski

(born 1957 in Warsaw) - Polish poet and prose writer.

He graduated in Polish philology from the University of Warsaw. Since 1983, he lived in Malbork, and since 2013 - in the forests on the Vistula Valley. He works as a curator in the Malbork Castle Museum.

Author of fiction and educational books. His novels Samo-loty ("Airplanes"), Stroiciel lasu ("The Forest Tuner"), and Kino krótkich filmów ("Short Films Movie Cinema") were presented in episodes on Radio Trójka (Polish Radio Programme Three, 2005/2006, 2010 and 2014). In 2009, he worked on the screenplay and preparations for the screening of Airplanes, as part of the Programme Ekran (“Screen”) at the Andrzej Wajda Master School of Film Directing.

Since 2006 – a member of the Polish Writers' Association. In 2009, he received the Decoration of Honour Meritorious for Polish Culture.
