“The Polish Truman Capote of poetry” – “Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung” on Krzysztof Siwczyk
At the end of February, the “Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung” published a piece by Artur Becker on the work of Krzysztof Siwczyk. The poet was also a guest at Berlin's Haus der Kulturen der Welt as part of the international meeting series “Utopia Eastern Europe”.
In his essay "Sprachbrecherische Herausforderung", Becker wonders "When will Germans finally discover the chilling poetry of Polish poet Krzysztof Siwczyk?", writing that Siwczyk's work is "full of concern for us, fragile beings who love each other or fight with each other. [Siwczyk's poetry] never closes its eyes to this dialectic of feelings".
The evening "We wouldn't be here without poetry!", which took place on 24 February at Haus der Kulturen der Welt, was attended by Julia Cimafiejeva, Gintaras Grajauskas, Anna Hetzer, Anastasiia Kosodii, Ivana Sajko, Miruna Vlada, and Ulyana Wolf as well as the Polish poet.
