A translation of Żanna Słoniowska's novel Dom z witrażem (“The House with the Stained-Glass Window”) has been published in Spain. The publication of Marta Rebon's translation was supported by the Book Institute as part of the ©POLAND Translation Programme.

The translation, the title of which reads Una vidriera en Leópolis in Spanish, was published by the well-known publishing house Alianza Editorial.

The House with the Stained-Glass Window by Żanna Słoniowska is a family saga that tells the story of four women - a great-grandmother, a grandmother, a mother, and a daughter, who is also the narrator of the novel.

Through the story of four women, the author also looks at the history of Ukraine, always seen through the prism of the personal experiences of the protagonists. The novel was nominated for the 2016 Nike Literary Award and won the 2016 Conrad Prize.

Żanna Słoniowska is a Lviv-born writer who moved to Poland only at the age of 24. She has written, among other things, the novels The House with the Stained-Glass Window and Wyspa ('The Island'), as well as the children's book Owwa! Ukraina dla dociekliwych (”овва! Ukraine for the Inquisitive").
