Virtual World Library Congress in the second half of August

Organised since 1928, the IFLA Congress brings together library professionals, library associations and institutions from around the world. This year, it will be held in a new, virtual format from 17 - 19 August 2021 and will be an even greater opportunity for librarians to learn about global trends and achievements of other libraries.

The theme of the congress is "Let's work together for the future", and it refers to the direction of the work of Christine Mackenzie, the IFLA President.

During her presidency, Christine Mackenzie has emphasised that librarians share similar goals and values, and by combining the global and the local, they can achieve great results.

By collaborating with other institutions, organisations, industry and government, libraries enable better access to information and strengthen their position, which has always been important to the international library community.

The IFLA Congress will cover three time zones: Europe, Middle East and Africa, Asia and Oceania, North and South America. Scheduled sessions, discussions, and forums will address five subthemes:

- Libraries Enable

- Libraries Inspire

- Libraries Include

- Libraries Innovate

- Libraries Sustain

The exact programme of the congress will be announced in the near future.

Sessions will be conducted in English with simultaneous translation available. After the congress, participants will have access to the recordings.

The conference fee for IFLA members is 65€ (for three days). It must be paid at https://www.ifla-wlic2021.com/pages/registration-information by 9 July 2021. The fee will increase after this date.

The Polish Librarians’ Association (SBP) is a member of IFLA, so all SBP members can pay the lowest fee. To download a membership code, please contact the SBP office or the SBP district boards.

This year's virtual congress is an opportunity to learn about IFLA activities, section and group projects without incurring travel and accommodation costs.

The conference fee is also the lowest in IFLA's history to enable library professionals to access the latest library science research findings, trends, and professional networking opportunities.
