The Book Institute supported the Slovenian translation of “Pszczoły” by Piotr Socha and Wojciech Grajkowski

In Slovenia, a translation of Pszczoły (“The Book of Bees”) was published. The book was translated by Staša Pavlović. The publication of the book by Paweł Socha (illustrations) and Wojciech Grajkowski (text) was supported by the Book Institute as part of the ©POLAND Translation Programme.

Čebele, as reads the Slovenian title of The Book of Bees, was published by Mladinska knjiga publishing house in Ljubljana.

The Book of Bees consists of more than 30 large-format pages, each of which is intricately composed. The colourful illustrations are full of details, and the short and easy-to-read text not only explains what can be found on them, but also contains a lot of additional information and curiosities.

Staša Pavlović has also previously translated the book Drzewa (“The Book of Trees”) by the same authors (published by Emka.si, Ljubljana 2019).

Recently, with the support of the ©POLAND Translation Programme, there have also been published the translations of books by the Socha/Grajkowski duo into German (The Book of Trees, translated by Thomas Weiler), Swedish (The Book of Trees, translated by Tomas Håkanson), Hungarian (The Book of Bees, translated by Viktoria Kellermann), Spanish (The Book of Trees, translated by Katarzyna Moloniewicz and Abel Antolín Murcia Soriano), Slovenian (The Book of Trees translated by Staša Pavlović), Icelandic (The Book of Trees translated by Illugi Jökulsson), Estonian (The Book of Trees translated by Marius Peterson), and Bulgarian (The Book of Trees translated by Marina Ognyanova).
