Second volume of Gombrowicz's “Dziennik” in Portuguese with support from the Book Institute

A translation of the second volume of Witold Gombrowicz's Dziennik (“Diaries”) has been published in Portugal. The publication of the book translated by Teresa Fernandes Swiatkiewicz was supported by the Book Institute under the ©POLAND Translation Programme.

Translated into Portuguese, the title of the book reads Diário - Volume II (1959-1969). It was published by Antígona - Editores Refractários, a publishing house that publishes works by prominent writers of world literature on the Portuguese market, including Alejo Carpentier, Andrei Platonov, Bohumil Hrabal, George Orwell, Henry Miller, Rainer Maria Rilke, Roland Topor, László Krasznahorkai, and Colette.

The first volume of Gombrowicz's Diaries in Portuguese translation was published by Antígona - Editores Refractários in 2021. Earlier, the publishing house also published Stanisław Lem's Solaris on the Portuguese market.
