Sample Translations ©Poland programme bears fruit

A new issue of the English-language online literary magazine “Cagibi” was published on Tuesday, featuring a translation of a short story by Katarzyna Szaulińska, translated by Mark Tardi. The translation was supported by the Sample Translations ©Poland programme.

The Book Institute's Sample Translations ©Poland programme serves to promote Polish literature abroad. It provides an opportunity for translators of Polish literature to apply for funding to translate an extract from a novel, short story, essay, set of poems, etc. They offer translations to publishers and magazines in their countries.

In this way, we jointly encourage the introduction of Polish literature to readers abroad and encourage publishers to publish translations of Polish books.

Details of the programme can be found at the link below:

A translation of Katarzyna Szaulinska's story by Mark Tardi can be found on the magazine's website.

We strongly encourage translators to engage with our programme!
