Mikołaj Grynberg’s “Confidential” in English and other translations

Numerous translations have recently been published abroad with the support of the Book Institute as part of the ©Poland Translation Programme. Of particular note is the translation of Mikołaj Grynberg's prose work, Confidential, which Sean Gasper Bye has brought to English-speaking readers.

The translation was published by the New York publishing house The New Press, which publishes, among others, Nobel Prize winner Abdulrazak Gurnah and previously published another book by Mikołaj Grynberg, Rejwach, also translated by Sean Gasper Bye. In addition, the following books have recently been translated:

• Olga Tokarczuk and Joanna Concejo's Lost Soul into Macedonian (translated by Lidija Tanuszewska, published by Artkonekt),

Dad’s Bottle by Artur Gębka and Agata Dudek into Portuguese (translated by Olga Bagińska-Shinzato, Editora Piu),

• Mikołaj Pasiński and Gosia Herba's Nobody’s Home into English (translated by Scotia Gilroy, published by Greystone Books),

• Iwona Chmielewska's Lullaby for Four into French (translated by Lidia Waleryszak, published by Format),

• Mateusz Borkowski's Wieniawski into German (translated by Peter Oliver Loew, published by Harrassowitz Verlag),

• Witold Szabłowski's What’s Cooking in the Kremlin into English (translated by Antonia Lloyd-Jones, published by Icon Books),

St. Petersburg. City of Dreams by Joanna Czeczott into Slovak (translated by Juraj Koudela, published by Absynt),

Mr. Practical by Roksana Jędrzejewska-Wróbel into German (translated by Dorota Stroińska, published by Kraus Verlag).
