German government to support the Frankfurter Buchmesse

German Culture Minister Monika Grütters has once again supported the Frankfurt International Book Fair with a grant that is expected to directly benefit exhibitors.

"Thanks to additional funding from the German government's Neustart Kultur programme, exhibitors will not suffer financial uncertainty as a result of the effects of the pandemic," the Frankfurt Book Fair says in a press release.

Booksellers (for the development of online channels) and publishers (for the publication of new books) can also apply for support from the government programme Neustart Kultur. The total budget for the Neustart Kultur government programme is €20 million.

The Frankfurt Book Fair is scheduled this year for 20-24 October.
