‘Salon du livre de jeunesse’ fair took place in Montreuil. With more than 400 exhibitors, it is one of the most important reading events in France. The Book Institute supported the participation of Aleksandra Woldańska-Plocińska, whose books are very popular in France.
The fair ran from 30 November to 5 December in Montreuil, near Paris. More than 400 publishers presented their publications in the field of children's literature at the Salon du livre de jeunesse. At the fair, visitors had the opportunity to buy books and learn about new titles on the market; in addition, there were also accompanying events - debates, workshops, meetings with authors - mainly aimed at children. Aleksandra Woldańska-Płocińska was invited to participate in this unique event and the Book Institute financially supported the initiative.
Aleksandra Woldańska-Płocińska's books, Smakologia (“Tasteology”, in French “Mangeons bien, mangeons raspberries”), Śmieciogród (“Rubbish Town”, in French “Halte aux déchets!”), and Zwierzokracja (“Animalocracy”, in French “Respectons les animaux”) have been very popular in France. During her stay at the fair, the author took part in a debate on promoting an eco-friendly lifestyle and met with readers to sign books.
Aleksandra Woldańska-Płocińska comes from Kalisz. She studied graphic design at the University of Arts in Poznań. She lives and works in Poznań. She writes and illustrates children's books.
