Today marks the deadline for submitting candidates for this year's Found in Translation Award, which is awarded to the author of the best translation of Polish literature into English in the past calendar year. Translations that have been published in book form in 2022 are eligible for submission.
The Book Institute, the Polish Cultural Institute in London, and the Polish Cultural Institute in New York are still inviting applications today.
Candidates can be submitted to the Book Institute (to the email address biuro@instytutksiazki.pl) by individuals and legal entities from Poland and abroad. The application should include the justification for the selection of the candidate, the candidate's address details, and the submitter's address details. Nominators may also submit an electronic version of the candidate's translated book with their application.
The award consists of a certificate, a one-month residency in Krakow with a study honorarium of PLN 2,000 and a flight to and from Krakow – all funded by the Book Institute, as well as a cash prize of PLN 16,000 funded in equal parts by the Book Institute, the Polish Cultural Institute in London, and the Polish Cultural Institute in New York.

- 2014 – Philip Boehm for his translation of Chasing the King of Hearts by Hanna Krall
- 2015 – Ursula Phillips for her translation of Choucas by Zofia Nalkowska
- 2016 – Bill Johnston for his translation of Twelve Stations by Tomasz Rózycki
- 2017 – Piotr Florczyk for his translation of Building the Barricade by Anna Swirszczynska
- 2018 – Jennifer Croft for her translation of Flights by Olga Tokarczuk
- 2019 – Madeline G. Levine for her translation of Collected Stories by Brunon Schulz
- 2020 – Anna Zaranko for her translation of The Memoir of an Anti-hero by Kornel Filipowicz
- 2021 – Ewa Malachowska-Pasek and Megan Thomas for their translation of The Career of Nicodemus Dyzma by Tadeusz Dolęga- Mostowicz
- 2022 - Jennifer Croft for her translation of The Books of Jacob by Olga Tokarczuk
