Conference on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of the City Library in Bratislava with the participation of the Book Institute
On Wednesday, September 30th, a conference "Functional design and modern architecture of libraries" took place in the Municipal Library in Bratislava on the occasion of the library's 120th anniversary. A limited number of Slovak librarians sat in the auditorium (due to sanitary reasons caused by epidemiological risks). Those interested could also follow the speeches of the speakers and the discussion of specialists thanks to live streaming.
Among the invited guests was a representative of the Book Institute Jakub Pacześniak. In his online presentation, he presented the effects of Priority 2 of the National Reading Development Programme "Library Infrastructure".
To recall, in the years 2011-2020, the Council of Ministers allocated 320 million PLN (around 70 million EUR) for the construction and modernisation of public libraries in Poland. 465 library buildings were built or modernised. Many of them were awarded in architectural competitions in Poland and abroad.
The operator of the "Library Infrastructure" programme is the Book Institute.
