From 7th-10th October 2019, the Book Institute and the Polish Institute in Bratislava are opening their stand at the International Book Fair "Bibliotéka" in Bratislava, which takes place simultaneously with the exhibition "Pedagogy" devoted to didactics and education.
At the invitation of the Book Institute, the Slovak capital will be visited by writer Joanna Siedlecka, who will talk to readers about her reportage and her book Czarny ptasior (“The Ugly Black Bird”), demystifying Jerzy Kosiński's life during the occupation, and Michalina Rolnik, illustrator, and author of the children’s book Zakątki, czyli kto tu mieszka? ("Corners of the World: Who Lives Here?”). Thanks to the financial support of the Book Institute, both books have recently been published in foreign languages, the first one in Czech and the second in Slovak.
Bratislava will also host a meeting with translators of Polish literature and publishers, which will be devoted to new publications from the Polish market and the programmes of the Book Institute.
