A thematic issue of the Czech bi-weekly "A2" dedicated to Polish contemporary literature has been published
A Polish-themed issue of the prestigious Czech cultural bi-weekly "A2" has recently been published in the Czech Republic, which focuses on contemporary Polish literature.
The magazine includes, inter alia, new translations of the latest Polish poetry selected by Zofia Bałdyga, a translator and poet living in Prague, fragments of novels by Martyna Bunda and Jakub Żulczyk (writers invited to the International Book Fair and Svět knihy Literary Festival) whose books are about to be published in Czech, as well as interviews and overviews of contemporary Polish literature.
The publication of the issue was supported by the Book Institute and the Polish Institute in Prague.
The magazine "A2" has been published since 2005, initially as a weekly magazine, and since 2008 - every two weeks. Each thirty-two-page issue is devoted to a specific topic, and the whole focuses on the mutual relations between culture and society. It was on the pages of "A2" that the term ‘precariat’ or artists such as Leïla Slimani and Moishe Postone appeared for the first time in the Czech Republic. The magazine is published with the support of the Czech Ministry of Culture.
