“Balonowa 5” by Gosia Herba and Mikołaj Pasiński published in Switzerland

A French translation of the children's book Balonowa 5 (“5 Baloon Street”) by Gosia Herba and Mikołaj Pasiński has been published in Switzerland. The publication of the book translated by Lydia Waleryszak was supported by the Book Institute as part of the ©POLAND Translation Programme.

The French translation of the book's title reads La Maison des Farfelus. It was published by La joie de Lire, a publishing house specialising particularly in children's literature.

5 Balloon Street, written by Pasinski and illustrated by Herba, is a story about the wacky residents of a certain town house inhabited by animals, which is aimed specifically at pre-school and early school children. The 5 Balloon Street is home to a rapper mouse, an ornithologist cat, nap-loving hippos, and many others.

Mikołaj Pasiński is a graphic designer, collage artist, and children's book author who has so far published four titles - 5 Balloon Street, Van Dog, Fertility, and Słoń na księżycu (“Elephant on the Moon”), all in collaboration with Gosia Herba.

Gosia Herba is an illustrator with many years of experience, whose work includes press illustrations, posters, album covers, and book illustrations. She has worked with 'La Nacion', 'The Washington Post', and Penguin Random House, among others. She has illustrated a number of children's books, in addition to those created in duo with Pasiński, including Raz, dwa, trzy, zaśnij ty! (“One, Two, Three, Go to Sleep!”) with Dorota Kassjanowicz and Kolumb. Całkiem inna historia (“Columbus. A Completely Different Story”) with Artur Domosławski.
