„Księgi Jakubowe” in Ukrainian with the support of the Book Institute

In Ukraine, Olga Tokarczuk’s Księgi Jakubowe (“The Books of Jacob”) translated by Ostap Sływynski has been published. The publication was supported by the Book Institute as part of the © POLAND Translation Programme.

The Book Institute at the International Non/fiction Fair in Moscow

On Thursday, 5th December, the 21st International Book Fair Non/fiction in Moscow began. The most important international trade event in the Russian book market, gathering several hundred exhibitors and thousands of enthusiasts of ambitious literature for adults and children, took place for the first time in Moscow's Gostiny Dvor near the Red Square. The Polish Non/fiction stand is traditionally organised by the Book Institute with the support of the Polish Institute in Moscow.

Polish-Czech Translation Seminar in Broumov (report and photos)

The Polish-Czech translatological seminar in Broumov ended on Sunday. The event was part of the programme’s activities preceding the presentation of Poland as an honorary guest of the International Book Fair and the Svět knihy Literary Festival in Prague as well as the presentation of the Czech Republic as an honorary guest of the Warsaw Book Fair in 2020.

Small Book – Great Man

The social campaign "Small Book – Great Man" reminds us of the benefits of reading together in a family from the first months of a child's life. It was devised in connection with a nationwide campaign, as part of which young parents will receive unique Reading Layettes in maternity wards.

CZYTAJ PL

The largest readership promotion campaign in Poland, and probably in the world. In this year's edition, in 500 cities and towns, there could be found free e-book rentals, available for everyone. They were available at bus stops, libraries, and cultural institutions. The Book Institute is a strategic partner of the campaign.
