We promote Polish literature across the world. In recent years, almost 1,800 translations of Polish books have been published as part of the ©Poland Translation Program!



“Świadkowie tajemnicy” by Górny and Rosikoń in Hungarian with the support of the Book Institute

In Hungary, the translation of Świadkowie tajemnicy. Śledztwa w sprawie relikwii Chrystusowych (“Witnesses to Mystery:  Investigations into Christ's Relics”) has recently been published. The book was translated by Péter Kovács. The publication of the book by Grzegorz Górny and Janusz Rosikoń was supported by the Book Institute as part of the ©POLAND Translation Programme.


“Ślepnąc od świateł” in 2020 in English translation

Ślepnąc od świateł (“Blinded by the Lights”), translated by Marek Kazmierski, will be published by the British publishing house Legend Press. The English-language edition of Jakub Żulczyk's novel will premiere in spring 2020.


Stanisław Wyspiański at London's Globe Theatre with the support of the Book Institute

The Globe Theatre in London hosted the "Shakespeare and Poland" festival. The ten-day-long festival with plays, performances, and discussions was meant to bring the richness and uniqueness of our literature and theatre closer to the British audience. The pretext for this was to trace Shakespeare's place in the imagination of Polish artists and researchers.


“Wszystkie wojny Lary” by Wojciech Jagielski in Ukrainian with the support of the Book Institute

The translation of Wojciech Jagielski's book Wszystkie wojny Lary (“All Lara’s Wars”), translated by Olena Sheremet, has been published in Ukraine. The publication was supported by the Book Institute as part of the ©POLAND Translation Programme.


Small Book – Great Man

Small Book – Great Man

The social campaign "Small Book – Great Man" reminds us of the benefits of reading together in a family from the first months of a child's life. It was devised in connection with a nationwide campaign, as part of which young parents will receive unique Reading Layettes in maternity wards.

The largest readership promotion campaign in Poland, and probably in the world. In this year's edition, in 500 cities and towns, there could be found free e-book rentals, available for everyone. They were available at bus stops, libraries, and cultural institutions. The Book Institute is a strategic partner of the campaign.
