arian Polak-Chlabicz is a journalist, translator, writer and poet. He studied English language and literature at Wrocław Universiy in Poland, and Baruch College in New York, where he has been living and working for 15 years. He is a regular contributor to the Polish-American daily Nowy Dziennik, the website, and other American and Polish media. In recent years, he has translated two selections of poems by Bolesław Leśmian from the Polish—Marvellations: The Best-Loved Poems in 2014, 33 of the Most beautiful Love Poems in 2011, and Pablo Neruda’s Veinte Poemas de Amor y una canción desesperada from Spanish into Polish in 2012. Currently, among other things, he is working on his English renditions of the remaining masterpieces by Leśmian, selected poems of Julian Tuwim, Polish translations of Edward Lear’s most humorous and nonsensical verses and verselets, and Edgar Allan Poe’s Eureka: A Prose Poem.
