Jarocin Festival not only for adults!

It's time for Jarocin Festival 2018! The legendary festival is not all punk rock today. Reading session with artists, art workshops, games and other activities – the Book Institute has prepared many attractions for young readers.

Jarocin Festival sets of at full steam this Friday, but the great Norwegian saxophonist and composer, Jan Garbarek will open the festival today already. The festival-opening concert of Garbarek will take place under the patronage of the Mayor of Jarocin as one of the events celebrating the 100th anniversary of Poland regaining sovereignty. The following three days will be an opportunity to take part in almost fifty concerts across four stages and a long list of other events – also under the auspices of the Book Institute that has prepared numerous attractions for children and their parents.

On Saturday, in the institute's Children's Space, Wojciech Mazolewski, Andrzej Zamenhof from the band Hańba and Paweł Ostrowski from Decadent Fan Club will read poems from the book Pierwsze wiersze (First Poems). The meeting with the musicians will be hosted by Katarzyna Stoparczyk from Polish Radio Three. For the entire two days the Space will be a place of many activities for children: solving word puzzles, memory, literary riddles, but also face painting, magic tricks, soap bubbles, fun activities with Boomwhackers and a Klanza sheet.

Additionally, on Saturday children will be able to sew their own fabric book or other toy. Next to the Children's Space there will be a Book Institute booth promoting the social campaign Little Book – Great Man reminding about the advantage of family reading as soon as a child's first months. The Children's Space is organised in collaboration with the Book Institute as part of the National Reading Promotion Program.
