Children’s Space in Jarocin Successful

The Children’s Space at the Jarocin Festival 2018 proved to be a great success. The Book Shop’s stand was visited by almost five hundred people while children and their parents received two hundred reading starter kits.

On Saturday, Wojciech Mazolewski, Andrzej Zamenhof and Paweł Ostrowski visited the Children’s Space. During the meeting hosted by a Polish Radio Three journalist Katarzyna Stoparczyk, famous musicians read and acted out poems for children, inviting them to join in the fun. On Sunday, we gave 200 reading starter kits Pierwsze wiersze dla…(The First Poems For) to children and their parents and 500 brochures Książką połączeni, czyli o roli czytania w życiu dziecka (Connected by a Book, on the role of Reading in a Child’s Life) in the Children’s Space. We informed the guests of the Book Institute’s stand about the campaign promoting reading among the youngest children and their parents.

Young parents praised the bookstart program and the level of editorship in the Institute’s publications. In the breaks between the concerts the children and their parents relaxed in the Children’s Space by reading Polish poetry. The cultural program was accompanied by many attractions: sewing and painting of linen bags, face painting, soap bubbles.

The Sunday afternoon on Jarocin’s market square started with the concert “Academy of Mr. Kleks Live”.

When children were busy playing, the Book Institute’s employees recommended valuable books for children to young parents. 500 brochures Książką połączeni, czyli o roli czytania w życiu dziecka (Connected by a Book, on the role of Reading in a Child’s Life) that prove how important reading is from the child’s first days were given out to this end.
